Introduction

The New Forest Players (NFP) is a leading Amateur Drama Group in New Milton in the New Forest Area of South England. NFP is an amateur dramatic society that is now in its 81st year. We have an active membership and each year we aim to produce at least three plays.

Our home is the superb Performing Arts Centre at Ballard School, New Milton. This is the venue for all main productions and Club Nights.

Club Nights are held regularly throughout the year. These fun and informal evenings include one-act plays, talks, quizzes and various other entertainments — visitors are always welcome.  Workshops covering various aspects of theatre for all ages are also held at various times throughout the season.

To keep us in touch, and our diaries synchronised, we have a monthly newsletter ‘Contact’.

The New Forest Players, Amateur Drama Group, New Milton, South England

27th - 30th October 2010

This delightful comedy takes place in a London flat and on the Patio of a house in the Home Counties and concerns two couples, one young and one middle-aged. With his deft turn of phrase and ability to make his characters totally believable, Ayckbourn skillfully weaves a plot involving mistaken identity which creates hilarious situations. He was asked to write a play which would make people laugh when their holidays were spoiled by rain and they came into the theatre to dry – in this he has succeeded brilliantly!

Tickets: Adults £8.00, Children (up to 14) £6.00

July 2010

Members of New Forest Players attended a day long awards ceremony, hosted by the National Operatic And Dramatic Society (NODA)  held at the Mandolay Hotel Guildford. The day consisted of  the NODA South East Region AGM, an award ceremony, and entertainment by an associate group.
The Players were delighted to receive the “Accolade of Excellence” award for their production of “Nightmare” by Norman Robbins, directed by Helen Davison. This play, an exciting thriller, was  presented in New Milton in October 2009 receiving excellent local press reviews, and given personal attention by the author.
The award was presented by the NODA Southern area representative covering New Milton, Stuart Ardern, and received by Sonia Collyer, New Forest Players longest serving member, who played the leading role in the play. The photograph shows Sonia Collyer receiving the award from NODA representative Stuart Ardern.
